How to Apply
The Council of Education: Witwatersrand provides bursaries to South African citizens who are in-service educators undertaking postgraduate studies in education at a tertiary institution in Gauteng.
We strongly advise you to complete the application and submit the required supporting documents on a computer.
Make sure that you have clearly legible electronic copies (in PDF format) of the following documents ready:
- A certified copy of your university registration
- Your CV (maximum two pages) starting with your most recent achievements and responsibilities
- A certified copy of your ID card or book which clearly indicates your South African citizenship
Applications with missing documents will be rejected.
No faxed or email applications will be accepted.
Only online applications will be accepted from 2024.
Note - there is no submit button. Your application updates on the system automatically as you complete the various sections.
You can Register as a new user, or Login as an exising user. Fill in All the information required, before submitting your application.
Applications must be received by 31st March. Applications received after this date WILL NOT be considered. Successful applicants ONLY will be notified by August.
What is the Council's obligation?
Completion of the form in no way obliges the Council to offer a bursary. The Council reserves the right to decide on the allocation of funds, and will not enter into any discussion regarding the amounts granted, or be obliged to give reasons for declining applicants.
